- Account information: Full name, email address, securely hashed password, user role, and optional username
- Institution information: Institution name and phone number
- Subscription information: Payment and billing information through secure third-party processors
- Communications & support: Contact information and message content when you reach out to us
B. Usage Data and Automatic Collection
- Usage data: IP address, device type, pages visited, features used, and interaction events
- Cookies: For core functionality and analytics - you can control these through browser settings
C. Educational & AI Interaction Data
- User progress: Curriculum units completed (associated with school rather than individual)
- BiteInstruct conversations: Content of conversations with our AI trainer
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for specific, limited purposes:
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Manage accounts and subscriptions
- Provide customer support
- Personalize your BiteInstruct experience
- Improve our platform through analytics
3. AI Assistants and Data Training Policy
Our Promise: We will never use your private conversations or any of your school's private data from any assistant to train our own models, fine-tuned versions, or any third-party AI models. Your data is used solely to serve you.
BiteInstruct (AI Trainer)
- Chat history retained for contextual conversations
- You can delete conversations at any time
- Never used to train AI models
Basic Assistants (Public & Internal)
- Session-based chat logs
- Automatically deleted within 1-6 hours
- Never used for training or personalization
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only in limited circumstances:
- AI Service Providers: With contractual safeguards that prohibit using your data to train their models
- Service Providers: Vendors performing services on our behalf under strict limitations
- Legal Compliance: When required by law or to protect rights and safety
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You control your data:
- BiteInstruct conversations: Deletable by you at any time
- Basic Assistant chats: Automatically deleted within 1-6 hours
- Account data: Removed upon school account deletion

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure password hashing, and access controls. While no method is 100% secure, we implement reasonable safeguards and will notify you of any material data breaches as required by law.
7. Data Transfers
As a company operating from India, your data may be processed and stored in India. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when data is transferred across borders.

You have the right to:
- Access, update, or delete your personal information
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

The Service is intended for use by teachers and school administrators and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
